The search for a Reproductive Specialist

I knew someone who had a child or two with IVF, so I got a referral. To this day I feel I should go back to the first one. I went to RE #1, had a long consultation and tons of blood work done. That’s when I found out about my thyroid issue, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, and a bunch of autoimmune issues I was not ready to deal with. I was told I’ve probably had numerous early pregnancy losses, judging from my blood work and history. I have a clotting disorder called MTHFR, a positive ANA, anti-cardiolipin, anti-phospholipid, etc. it was all too much I think. I got sick! Hospital sick. I was put on Protonix for GERD or acid reflux. I went to that GI doc again but I really didn’t like his attitude. I found another through friends and saw his NP or PA, not sure which it was, but she was knowledgable and caring. It was a combination of the vomiting, pain, diarrhea and lack of appetite, that was diagnosed as IBD. I was even tested for Celiac’s disease. Next stop endoscopy. On a good note I had the perfect January wedding!!! I had lost 35LBS, without dieting. I just couldn’t eat. The endoscopy was done at a medical center in March and went so smoothly. Propofol only! I woke up, the doctor spoke to me and told me I have a hiatal hernia but that’s it. All normal. I still had tremendous pain during my period week and problems with my bowels and eating. It was a sad situation.
